frequently asked questions
Do You Take Music Requests?
Yes we do. Not only do we take them, but we encourage them. This allows us to get a good feel of what styles of music your guests want to hear throughout the night. We are there to provide entertainment for YOU and YOUR guests. We do not have any “prepared setlists” because we operate everything digitally from a laptop allowing us to instantaneously pick songs based on your guest’s reactions!
Can I Provide You A List Of Music That I Do And Do NOT Want Played?
Absolutely. We fully understand the musical decisions made by the organizers of your event. After all, we are there to service your needs and wants. We do ask for a little bit of creative freedom to read to crowd at your event to make sure that everyone is happy and gets the chance to dance! But of course if you say you don’t want rap, not a lot of country, nothing with swearing, no novelty dances etc. we will 100% follow that!
Do You Specialize In A Particular Type Of Music Or Do You Have A Wide Variety?
I wouldn’t say we “specialize” in any one type of music because at each event everyone wants to hear such a wide variety of years, genres and speeds of music. We have an extensive library of music covering every style, era and genre you can think of, including brand new songs from all genres. Our ultimate goal is to play to the crowd and whatever they want, we’ve got it!
Do You Meet With The Bride & Groom Before The Wedding To Talk About The Day?
We strongly encourage as much interaction as possible before the wedding to make sure the day goes exactly the way that you planned it! Sometimes meeting face to face can be difficult since we serve all of Grey-Bruce County. If it is possible, no problem at all. We are also available through email and phone at anytime as well. There is also a wedding questionnaire that we ask you to fill out with all the basic information that we need to make sure we provide you the best service possible on the day of your wedding. Things such as venue, how many people, age group, music, times, first dance song, cake cutting, Garter & Bouquet and more!
What Will The DJ Wear At Our Event?
We will dress according the atmosphere of the event. If it is a wedding, we will dress exactly as you would expect anyone else at your wedding to dress. Formal suit and tie etc. We will always dress professionally for every event that we are a part of!
Are There Going To Be Any Extra On Top Of Our Quote?
Absolutely NOT! Once we know the brief details of the event such as total hours, event, location etc. we will give you a quote that will include everything you have asked for such as extra hours, speeches, ceremony, travel etc. The quote we give you is what you pay for your event unless there are last minute changes which we can accommodate with no problems!
Do You Require Us To Sign A Contract?
Yes we do. This is for both our protection and yours as well. If you are looking for a DJ that doesn’t ask you to sign a contract you should be very cautious. It is a very basic contact that basically covers our equipment and that we are compensated for the event in which we have serviced. It also protects you in guaranteeing that we provide the service that we have promised. Which you won’t have to ever worry about! Laker Entertainment is in 100% good standing with the Canadian Professional Disc Jockey Association!
